In this session filmed exclusively for CV Academy, Barry Quin of London-based grassroots organisation Bloomsbury Football focuses on the technical development of young players.

Together with fellow coach Josh Arnold, Quin begins with a warm-up and activation session that works on the players’ passing and receiving skills, with a particular stress on quality of pass, back-foot receiving and scanning. The session progresses into a figure-of-eight passing pattern that incorporates work on crossing and finishing, before ending with a game in which the coaches reinforce some of the technical points made throughout.

It’s a really straightforward but useful session that can be used with grassroots players of all ages and levels. We hope you find it useful!
