This Chelsea Under-10s session, filmed exclusively for The Coaches’ Voice, focuses on developing individuals’ technical skills and general understanding of the principles involved in playing out from the back.

It begins with an unopposed dribbling and passing practice that takes place in a small and chaotic area. It then moves into a build-up practice in which the attacking team must make use of an overload to progress the ball forward, before ending in a small-sided game in which one team must attempt to accumulate a set number of passes and progress to combine with both goalkeepers.

It’s an excellent session that can be used to develop young players’ understanding of building up play from the back. We hope you enjoy it!
