In this session filmed exclusively for CV Academy, we focus on Arsenal Under-13 head coach Josh Hinckson as he leads a group of youth development phase attackers through a series of practices designed to work on their creating and finishing actions.

The session starts with a topic-relevant warm-up for the whole group, led by head of academy performance Perry Stewart. Players are then split into their respective units, with Hinckson taking the forwards for an extended practice that incorporates different ways of finishing the attack and enables the players to work on varied finishing techniques as well as their off-the-ball movements. The whole group then comes back together for a series of small-sided games in which Hinckson is able to focus on how two specific players have taken the principles worked on into a game situation.

It’s a really focused and fascinating session that gives an excellent insight into unit work at one of the most respected academies in football. We hope you enjoy it!
