In this session filmed exclusively for CV Academy, Kieran Turner of Pro Sports Academy – a leading private football-coaching provider based in southeast England – works with a Peterborough United Under-21 centre-back to develop the player’s ball manipulation and passing.

The session replicates scenarios of passing and receiving in tight spaces, relevant to a ball-playing centre-back. Turner begins by taking the player through basic movements and short passing to prepare for the session ahead. He then introduces a series of progressions that incorporate ball manipulation, and increasing combinations of passing and receiving.

It’s a technical session, with a welcome focus on in-possession skills so important to the modern centre-back. We hope you enjoy it!
