In this session filmed exclusively for CV Academy, Tottenham’s lead Under-18 coach Stuart Lewis takes his players through a series of practices that focus on switching play through midfield.

The session begins with a technical activation that prepares the players physically for the practices that follow. It progresses into a themed possession-game, with a focus on switching play away from pressure. The group is then split into defending and attacking units; Lewis coaches defenders on circulating possession and switching play, while academy coach Bradley Allen leads an attacking group through patterns of switching play to set up a cross and finish.

The final practice is a small-sided themed game, with neutral wide players, where goals are rewarded if they involve switches of play.
