We are delighted to present the on-demand version of the technology panel that formed part of The Coaching Conference 2021.
Host David Jones was joined on the panel by Mathew Pearson, head of performance analysis and research at Wolves, Steve Rands, now first-team analyst at Nottingham Forest, and Andrew Trimble, co-founder and chief executive of scheduling and communications platform Kairos.
The panel covered a number of areas in which technology plays an increasing role in football. Trimble, a former international rugby player with Ireland, shared his experiences of technology from the viewpoint of the athlete, and explained how that informed the development of Kairos as a way of simplifying and streamlining the off-field relationships between player and coach. Pearson and Rands discussed the increasing role of the analyst within football, and described how they work alongside players, coaches and support staff to enhance on-field performance. They also talked about how they work with companies such as Hudl and Veo to maximise the impact of their roles, and gave their views on how technology could develop still further within the game.
We hope you enjoy the fourth of five sessions from The Coaching Conference to appear on CV Academy. The keynote delivery, Ralf Rangnick’s far-ranging conversation with David Jones, is already available to view, along with an hour-long session with Barcelona sporting advisor Jordi Cruyff and the player development panel discussion featuring Paul Heckingbottom, Justin Cochrane, Kevin Nolan and Simon Rusk.
